Philadelphia is an amazing place for film; every neighborhood is a treasure trove of sights, sounds and history. In the last 10 years, more than 80 films have been made in Philadelphia including Lady in the Water, Charlotte’s Web and The Woodsman. The list is growing quickly. The BBFF is a perfect fit for this action-packed, filmmaking city.

The BBFF only happens with the support of our filmmakers, audience members and generous sponsors. We are searching for fresh, bold voices in new American and International cinema and adventurous movie goers to share enjoy them.

Reggie Garrison is a Philadelphia native who loves Action Movies. Growing up in West Philadelphia on a regular diet of Black Belt Theater and the Kung Fu Double Feature, Reggie has long been a fan of the movies that leave you hanging off the edge of your seat, and the people who make those movies. Reggie graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Marketing from the Wharton School of Finance. He works as an IT Specialist and UPenn and manages a successful real estate career in the Philadelphia area as an agent with Century 21. With many years of experience in project planning and information technology, he brings a wealth of dynamic personal and professional tools to this exciting project. And it’s that sense of excitement and dynamism that Reggie plans to bring to Philadelphia with the Big Bang Film Festival.

Florence Mickens brings years of experience in special event planning and administration. She has worked with some of the area’s biggest names in arts and education including the Philadelphia Orchestra, Drexel University and the University of Pennsylvania. Her event planning experience runs the gamut from weddings to theme parties to professional workshops. Florence loves good film and a good fun, with her help, BBFF will provide plenty of both.
